It was a wonderful event. On March 8, 2009 Machroyce L. Corbitt, Sr. attended the Annual bridge crossing in Selma, Alabama. A large number of people from around the world came to pay homage to those who risked their life to cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge. The event was titled Bloody Sunday. Among those who originally crossed the bridge on March 7th, 1965 was Martin Luther King, Jr., and members of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference(SCLC).
